I have been having lots of fun keeping busy recently by working on projects around the house. The front porch is ready for fall with mums planted, pumpkin topiaries from the farmer’s market flanking the door and my wreath I made last year welcoming everyone as they enter.
Up next in my recent adventures in crafting…sewing from a pattern for the first time! I bought the cuff-top valance from Pate Meadows and took my sweet time finishing this but it was worth the wait. I’m super excited to start shopping for fabric again for the windows in the kitchen. I might buy a different pattern but we’ll see.
I’ve been busting out the Silhouette machine lately and making some appliques on hand towels. Lauren showed me a picture of a lobster towel in Joss and Main that she really liked. She was thinking of buying it, but I was like, “wait, I think I can make you that!” Her towel was about $20, mine cost about $4. Check it out…
Once I saw that those turned out pretty well, I thought of making a house warming gift for my friend Adrienne. She and her husband just bought their first house together and I thought these hand towels would make her smile.
I hope everyone is well and having fun doing the things they love to do too!
PS Dinah says hi!
Here she is doing one of her favorite things…snuggling and sleeping!
